Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) – Sydney, Australia
Following the merger of the University of New South Wales' AGSM with the University of Sydney's Graduate School of Business, the new Australian Graduate School of Management is a School of both Universities. The new AGSM is stronger by virtue of its size, resources and reputation and will continue to build on its combined strength. It offers the best of all types of management education and is able to serve its students with even greater choice and flexibility.
The full-time MBA Program is based at the Kensington campus in a modern, executive-style building, 15 minutes by car from Sydney's central business district. All of the School's lecture theatres are equipped with the latest technology, and syndicate rooms are available for group work.
Location
The location of the AGSM on the 38 hectare landscaped campus of the University of New South Wales places it within minutes of beautiful surfing beaches and coastal walking tracks, as well as the major sporting venues of the Sydney Cricket Ground and Sydney Football Stadium.
Sydney has all the vigour of a world-class city, and a population of nearly four million people; yet on the ground one will find it still possesses a seductive, small-town, easy-going charm.
The city also has a tangible sense of history in the old stone walls and well-worn steps in the backstreets around The Rocks, while the sandstone cliffs, rocks and caves amongst the bush-lined harbour still contain Aboriginal rock carvings, evocative reminders of a more ancient past.
Activities
With over 7.5 million sq. km of sparsely populate territory, it is not surprising that Australia is an adventure playground. You can chew up the km with a 4WD, or explore smaller regions by foot. There are fabulous walks in the Northern Territory’s MacDonnell Ranges, Uluru National Park and Kakadu (excellent but tough). South Australia’s Flinders Ranges, New South Wales’ Great diving Range, Blue Mountains and Snowy Mountains, (straddling the border with Victoria) and Tasmania’s vast wilderness are terrific for hikers too. Australia’s best skiing is in the Snowy Mountains and in the warmer months, you can clip-clop along the Snowy’s excellent horse riding trails. Other outback experiences include camel trekking and fossicking for beryl, garnet, quartz, gold or jasper.
