
HEC School of Management –Paris, France
Founded in 1881, HEC School of Management is amongst the top business schools in Europe and ranks No 1 in France. For over 120 years, the school has prepared the French and European elite for key positions in the commercial world.
Location
The first French business school to create a real campus outside Paris, the HEC campus is located in Jouy-en-Josas, 15 km from Paris and 5km from Versailles, and surrounded by 250 acres of wooded countryside. Several buses travel between the campus and the railway station in Jouy-en-Josas and it takes approximately 45 minutes to get to Paris.

Academic Information
Classes are generally given in the form of lectures with focus on individual participation and group work in the form of case-studies and projects. Attendance in classes is mandatory.
Credit Equivalency
30 ECTS = 15 SSB credits
Language
French or English
Upon arrival, Schulich students can choose whether to enter the Bilingual (English/French) or the English-speaking sections of the Program. Although no language test will be given, students are encouraged to have a minimum knowledge of the French Language. Through the semester, students are allowed to take French language courses to help improve their level of French.
Facilities
A personal computer is not needed for classes, but is strongly recommended for personal work. The computer rooms and the students’ bedrooms* are connected to the HEC ETHERNET Local Area Network which gives access to :

· Microsoft Software located on FTP server;
· Library database;

The main computer facility is located in the North Gallery. Students have access to all PC labs, each equipped with PCs and laser printers. Students will be given a personal login and password and a printer card which should be re-charged by the student.
A language center is also available for students to practice their French individually.
Internships
As the leading business school in France, HEC constantly receives internship offers from prestigious French and International companies. These are available to exchange students. Every year, the HEC career department organizes several forums that Schulich students can attend.
Student Associations
Together with the AIESEC the BDE participates in welcoming and helping international students during their stay at HEC. There are currently more than 100 active students associations at HEC.
Accommodation
International students are offered the possibility of living on Campus within the limits of available housing. Priority is given to students from abroad. HEC Campus has 10 student halls with a total of 813 furnished rooms available to students.
Health Insurance
Exchange students must be covered by a health insurance policy which is valid in France during their exchange term.
