Université de Paris-Dauphine, France


A relatively young French university, founded in 1968, the University of Paris-Dauphine has made quite a name for itself for innovative teaching methods and conducting exceptional research. Consistent with the trends across universities, its population is quite diverse, with 13.5% of the student population being international.

Location
Located near the Champs-Elysées and the Eiffel Tower, Dauphine boasts an exciting and convenient campus in downtown Paris at Place du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny.

Academic Information
Dauphine’s classroom teaching approach is based on group work. The University offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Management and Business Administration, Applied Mathematics, and Economics. Schulich students can take courses in economics, mathematics, information technology, management, finance, law, human relations, language and the sociology of organizations.

Credit Equivalency
5 Dauphine courses = 5 SSB courses
*Each Dauphine course is normally worth 4 ECTS credits with 39 hours of instruction per course.

Language
French and English

There are approximately 15 courses taught in English per semester. Both business and non-business courses are offered in English. Dauphine has a strong emphasis on French as a Foreign Language, including many business French courses.

Facilities
Exchange students will have access to a multi-media centre, including language and computer laboratories, a modern library, bookstore and post office, restaurants and cafeterias and student clubs. There is a virtual tour on the Dauphine Web site.

Accommodation

With its central location, Dauphine is a non-residential university. However, Dauphine does provide assistance in the search for off-campus housing.

Exchange students must be covered by a health insurance policy which is valid in France during their exchange term.

International Office
Dauphine’s Internatioanal Relations office organizes a ‘buddy program’ or ‘parrainage’. Dauphine Espace Europe, much like Schulich’s Open Arms Committee organizes events for international students throughout the semester. Dauphine has over 80 exchange partnerships in 46 countries.
