The Escuela de Negocios de Valparaíso (Business School of Valparaíso) was founded in 1952 by the descendants of don Adolfo Ibáñez Boggiano one of the most outstanding businessmen of the time. Mr. Ibáñez conceived the idea of creating a school to prepare authentic businessmen endowed with sound professional skills and a solid humanities education. In 1987 the Escuela de Negocios gave birth to Adolfo Ibáñez University, which has since expanded to include various other schools and faculties. There are four campuses. Two are located in Chile’s 5th Region while the remaining two are located in the Santiago Metropolitan Region.

Viña del Mar, part of greater Valparaíso metropolitan area, is considered by many to be Chile's most beautiful city. A seaside resort endowed with fine beaches and modern buildings, the city charms and surprises visitors. Historic Valparaíso, Chile's principal sea port, is only 10 minutes away and possesses a unique urban character. Only 100 kilometers from Santiago, Viña del Mar is known for its various entertainment places, such as the oldest and most attended Gambling Casino in the country, the classical Sporting Club, with its well-known racetrack. It also hosts events such as the International Musical Festival in Latin America held in the summer months. Travel within Chile is easy due to the abundance of fast, punctual and comfortable buses. Chile’s abundance of natural parks offer great trekking opportunities such as the Parque Nacional la Campana (easily accessible from Santiago), Parque Nacional Huerquehue, Villarrica and Parque Nacional Puehue. Just outside of Santiago, the resorts of Valle Nevado and Portillo provide excellent skiing. The Maipo, Claro and Biobio rivers are popular for white water rafting.

Academic Information
Students can register in courses in the Master of Science taking courses in Marketing and Finance, the MBA International (MBAIP) program offered at the campus located in Viña del Mar or the Executive MBA program (EXMBA) at the Presidente Errázuriz campus located in Santiago.

Credit Equivalency
150 hours of UAI courses = 12 SSB credits
190 hours of UAI courses = 15 SSB credits

Classes range from 8 hours to 30 hours per course, with the majority of classes at 22.5 hours.

Language
All courses are taught in Spanish, though there may be complementary readings in English.

Facilities
Exchange students have access to all the campuses' facilities, which include computer labs, libraries, sports facilities, etc

Type/Availability of Accommodation
Though the university does not have residential housing, the International Office helps exchange students find apartments near the university. Students can also take advantage of the opportunity to stay with a Chilean family, which will allow them to practice their Spanish and learn Chilean customs. There is a Welcoming Committee conformed by UAI students who will help and orient exchange students in the search for housing.

Health Insurance
Exchange students must arrive in Chile with an international health insurance policy covering illness and accidents that may occur in Chile. The Chilean health system is very professional, and the risk of contracting illnesses in the country is the same as in any developed country.

Visa Information
