
Norwegian School Of Management, NSM, Oslo – Norway
The Norwegian School of Management is the largest private institution to receive a Business and Economics education in Norway. Founded in 1943, NSM has grown to be the second largest Business School in Europe with over 15,000 students. NSM has been preparing young men and women to effectively work in managerial positions around the world. NSM's future oriented approach to teaching has provided its students with the experience and knowledge that is required for success in the business community. NSM has strong links to over 80 major enterprises in the trade and service industry, which will offer students exposure to specific fields of endeavor.
Location
NSM is located 15 km from downtown Oslo, the capitol of Norway. The public transit service is superb and the city is easy to get around so students have the opportunity to visit all the sites and attractions of Norway. Landmarks such as the Akershus Castle, which was built in 1300CE and was home to many historic events, is one of many sites for travelers to visit. You can enjoy the landscape and greenery of Vigeland Park or take in the culture of Munch Museum. Oslo is a fine example of European/Scandinavian culture.

Fall Term: Mid August – mid November (exams to mid December)
Winter: Early January – mid April (exams to mid June)
Academic Information
Areas of concentration include: International Management, Strategy, Financial Economics, Marketing and Economics. Classes include lectures, class discussions, group work and individual assignments. The program offers special activities including the opportunity to participate in company consulting work and a week long study tour to another country. The size of the classes will vary depending on the course and instructor. However, students can expect about 30-40 students in each class.
Credit Equivalency
30 ECTS = 15 SSB credits
*Each course at NSM is worth 6 ECTS credits.
Language
The language of instruction is English. Students may enrol in Norwegian classes free of charge.
Computer Facilities
NSM acknowledges the importance of information technology and has accommodated students with 24 hour computer labs, which offers PC's and network Internet access.
Type/Availability of Accommodation
There is the possibility of renting accommodations at Anker Studentboliger (2-minute walk from school) or other arrangements can be made for renting accommodations off-campus in the surrounding area.
Health Insurance
Students who are participating in the exchange and staying for more than 3 months must obtain health insurance from the Norwegian Social Security System. This insurance will cover their health care as it would any Norwegian citizen.
