Indian Institute of Management Bangalore - Bangalore, India

Established in 1973 by the Government of India, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is a Centre of Excellence in the field of management education. In 2000 IIMB has been ranked as the best business school in India by the "Business Today" magazine.

The location of the Institute offers the advantage of ready access to some of the leading corporate houses in the country, which helps in integrating classroom knowledge with practical experience. Keeping in pace with the rapidly changing industry needs, the evolving program content offers the students a wide range of electives enabling them to develop a broad perspective. This, along with ongoing interaction with the industry, ensures a deeper understanding of practical problems. The Institute also lays emphasis on developing ability to adapt to the fast changing environment. Efforts are made to achieve this through specific courses, which are of contemporary relevance.

Location
The IIMB campus is located on the southern edge of Bangalore. Bangalore, also known as the Silicon Valley of India, is located in the Southern part of the country and is the capital of the state of Karnataka. Today, it is India's 5th largest city, the momentum of its industrial and commercial growth unequalled in the country. Aptly named "Garden City", it boasts of an amazing number of flowering trees and parks. With splendid pink cassias and golden acacias blooming, with jacarandas flowering in purple majesty and the gulmohurs lighting the roads with their flame-orange brilliance, the city is a sheer delight to simply wander around in.
