Faculte des Sciences de l'Administration de l'Université Laval, Quebec City - Canada
Located in the heart of Quebec's historic capital city, Université Laval is one of Canada's leading universities. As Canada's first university (founded in 1663), Université Laval was the very first place in North America to offer higher education in French. It has been a pioneer in program assessment and strategic planning, and its 1992-1997 master plan sets out goals for management and services for both the academic and administrative sectors. As of fall 1998, Université Laval had over 350 programs at three levels of study and 35,800 students.
The university campus is one of the most striking in Quebec. It covers 1.2 sq. km and has over 30 pavillions, all linked by 10 km of underground walkways. The newly erected Alphonse-Desjardins/Maurice-Pollack Building is a focal point for campus community services.
Location
Québec City, a short three hour drive from Montréal, is the capital of the province, home to the famous Winter Carnival and is a delightful blend of historic old world charm combined with all of the conveniences of a modern city. Because of its history, beauty, and unique stature as the only walled city north of Mexico, the historic district
of Québec was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1985--the only one so designated in North America.
