With 1.2 million people, Lyon is France's second largest city. Having made the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lyon compares with Venice, Prague and St. Petersburg in cultural importance. Lyon is well known for its world-class museums and restaurants, which are affordable and of high quality. Located in the heart of France, it is only two hours away from Paris by TGV (high-speed train), equal time away by car from the Alps and Italy and four hours away from the French Riviera. Having an excellent public transit system, access to the surrounding areas is quite attainable.
Located in Ecully, a residential suburb of Lyon (approximately 12 km from the city centre), E.M. Lyon is a mere 10 minutes away from the city centre. As the University is situated in a rural setting within a large park of over 18 acres, it is ideal for quiet study with the convenience of easily exploring Lyon’s wonders.

Academic Information
Lectures are provided for each class with generally much emphasis placed on group study. Students attending E.M. Lyon will take courses from Lyon’s Bachelor year. Exchange students are put into a fixed academic program taught in French and do not have flexibility with the courses. A copy of the curriculum is available in the Resource Library.

There are computer rooms available with access to Windows applications, email accounts and Internet.
Type/Availability of Accommodation
On-campus housing is provided at Le Galion residence hall. Off-campus housing assistance is also available.

Health Insurance is mandatory for all exchange students. Students are responsible for purchasing health insurance before they leave for their exchange term.
